Chicago has SO many incredible locations that are great for engagement photoshoots! Some are hidden gems and others are more obvious. It can be tricky to narrow down location options to figure out the perfect one for you. Luckily, I’m here to help! Before each engagement session, I consult with the couple to figure out which location would be the PERFECT one for their love story. Here are three of my favorites!

1. North Avenue Beach

North Avenue Beach is a classic for a reason! The skyline views are unbeatably jaw-dropping. Plus, it’s pet friendly! I love the versatility of this location — you can get some great views of the iconic Chicago skyline, and then turn towards the water for a gorgeous beachy scene. What’s not to love?!

2. Montrose Harbor & Bird Sanctuary

This is definitely one of Chicago’s best hidden gems! It’s a great place to wander around if you’re looking for some nature within the city, and it’s also a fantastic spot for an engagement photoshoot. There’s gorgeous greenery in the summer that becomes the fall foliage of DREAMS in the autumn. Plus, you might be treated to the site of one of the many beautiful birds that call Montrose Harbor their home!

3. The Chicago Riverwalk

The Riverwalk might be an obvious choice, but there are so many ways to make it unique and your own! There are many bridges and spots to choose from. I have a few go-to routes that I switch up depending on what my couples are interested in. For example, for those looking for the iconic Chicago sites, we’ll start at the Chicago theater and then head to the State Street bridge. Alternatively, for couples looking for that more classic architecture look, we’ll start on the other side of the river at the Wrigley building and then cross over the Michigan Avenue bridge. The opportunities to mix and match the different bridge views with different spots on the riverwalk are endless! Plus, you’re always welcome to end the night with a drink at one of the bars on the Riverwalk. A perfect end to your Chicago engagement session – once you’re all dressed up, might as well make a date night out of it!
