Specializing in Jewish weddings & celebrating all love. Take me to photograph your wedding NYC, LA, Boston, anywhere!
You’re always welcome to send me photos of outfit options you’re considering. I’ll let you know what will show up best on camera!
Feel free to bring any props or special items that represent the two of you! I have a white picnic blanket that photographs adorably, just let me know if you’d like me to bring it along. If you’re showing off rings or other jewelry, make sure to clean it beforehand!
Props you could bring include…
I love working with pets! If you’re bringing your furry friend with you to your session, you’re also required to bring along an additional person to help watch them when they’re not being featured. I’ve learned this the hard way after having anxious/barking pets completely disrupt the flow of the session. It’s distracting for everybody and makes it hard to focus on enjoying the moment! If you’re including your pet, I suggest including them for the first portion. After that, we’ll focus solely on the two of you.
We love a summer engagement session even though weather this time of year can be unpredictable. We’ll be in touch the morning of your session if it looks like there might be rain in the forecast. If this is the case, we’ll make a joint decision about whether we want to reschedule. I always keep a few backup dates open so we can fit you in as soon as possible!
It’s completely normal to feel nervous before your session. Most of my couples have never been professionally photographed before. Part of my job is to help you feel comfy & at-ease in front of the camera! You’re welcome to have a drink before your session if it will help you relax (just please don’t show up completely drunk lol). Let me know what your favorite music is so I can play it during your session, and plan on leaving the house with plenty of time so you’re not stressed about being late!
You do NOT need to practice posing at home. You don’t need to have any idea whatsoever of how you want to appear on camera! If you have a Pinterest board created you’re welcome to send it over, but it is by no means necessary!
Since you’ll be all dressed up anyway, why not plan on going on a lil date night after your session? Get dinner, go to drinks, or hop in the lake weather permitting.
Hopefully this guide has helped you feel calm & prepared for your summer engagement session. If you have any other questions, feel free to send me an email and I’d be happy to answer them!
If you take anything away from this guide, it’s this: your engagement session should be a stress-free activity where you get to feel like your best selves.
Looking for an engagement photographer who will take all the stress out of planning your session? Reach out and let’s set up a time to chat!
